The Siblings Project {March 18}

The last four weeks have been really good apart from a little bit of illness for Oliver. We sailed through half-term and back to school and now time is racing towards Spring and the Easter holidays. This month’s photos were taken on the first of March when we had our first ever snow days and school was shut for two days running. We tried to make a snowman but the snow wouldn’t stick as it was too cold (-5), it was so powdery and just wasn’t wet enough to stick together.

It doesn’t seem like five minutes since I was writing January’s Siblings post and here we are in the middle of February. I hate wishing the time away but is it Spring yet? The last four weeks have been about school routine, quick trips to the park, two birthday parties and family time at home with Daddy recovering from having his tonsils out.

I’m not a fan of January, it’s cold, dark, grey and always feels like the longest month of the year. The last four weeks have had a big contrast. We’ve had two weeks of Christmas school holidays, which involved a lot of relaxing and a bit of work and then the other two weeks have been the end of term and then the start of the new term, so all routine and busy rushing around. We can’t wait for Spring to arrive.

We’ve had a great few weeks with the boy’s birthday and preparations for Christmas. This time last month we only had five days to go until the boy’s birthday and as I write this there are only 10 days left until Christmas. They’re so excited that Santa is going to bring them a bike and I can’t wait for the school holidays.

The last four weeks have included Half Term. The boys went to Nana and Grandad’s for three days and enjoyed going swimming twice, jumping in and going down the big slide. I had the end of the week off so we had three days together and enjoyed a breakfast out in town, going to the cinema to see The Jungle Bunch and a trip to the garden centre for cake. At the end of the week we carved pumpkins for halloween. The boys drew a picture and asked me to transfer it on to their pumpkin. The Siblings Project {October 17}

The last four weeks have been all about spellings and reading. I’m finding it really hard to fit it all in but the boys are doing so well. Last week they got 7/10 in their spelling test and this week Oliver got 7/7 and Ethan got 6/7. Oliver said he also got 3 merits for doing well so we’re so pleased.

We’re not back into routine at all and I’m not sure we will be for a while. I’ve been waking them up every morning and struggling to get them to calm down at bedtime. I think they’re over tired and have been having a crazy half hour just before bed every night. I’ve just felt like a broken record, telling them over and over again to eat and get ready in a morning and then asking them to calm down and get ready for bed at night. They’re just not listening to us at all. Oliver especially seems to be in his own little world most of the time and the only person he lets in is Ethan apart from when he wants cuddles at bedtime.

We’re right in the middle of the summer holidays. I can’t believe how fast the first three weeks have gone and just like that I’ve waved the boys off at the airport today to spend the rest of their holidays in Italy. They were so excited, Oliver was a bit more cuddly early this morning but absolutely fine when they left. I hope they will both be ok when Daddy comes home in a few days. I’m more than ready to go and join them at the end of the month for a proper holiday!

The photos I’m sharing this month are from Monday 19th June. The boys had an inset day and it was so hot. They begged me all afternoon to set up the hose pipe so they could run back and forward through the spray and here are a few shots! Imagine the sound of them screaming and laughing and then having to go in to get their goggles from the swimming bag!

The last few weeks have been jam packed for the boys. From class photos and a school trip to White Post farm to a full half term, including a day with Nana and Grandad, hair cuts, dentist visits, a day out with friends and our family trip to Legoland and then last week, Ethan’s surgery to have a raised mole removed. I have quite a lot of different photos to share this month. I hope you enjoy looking through them and can tell they’ve had lots of fun together this month.
