Me & Mine Project {February 18}

 February has finished. I normally feel relief at knowing that Spring is just around the corner but what with the freezing temperatures and snow of this week I’m wishing the time away a bit.  Tonight the temperature is -6! February has gone quickly, half-term flew by. I’ve worked two weekend days and been to a conference on one of the other weekends.

Mother’s Day Gift Guide

With Valentines Day out of the way the next date for the diary in the UK is Mother’s Day on March 11th.  Whether you’re looking for something to buy for your other half from your children or you’re someone hoping to find something new for your Mum, I’ve got ten great ideas for you.

Mother’s Day Giveaway with Lily Rose London

With Mother’s Day coming up in less than two weeks time, have you decided what to buy yet? Or is it that you are a mum who will be treated to your own choice of gift. I approached Lily Rose London to ask if they would work with me on a Mother’s Day giveaway and was so pleased when they offered to donate one of their gorgeous bumble bee necklaces. My Mum bought me one for Christmas and I absolutely love it.

Snowdrops at Hodsock Priory – A Half-Term Day Out

We had three days together just me and the boys and one with something already planned so when it came to Monday evening I was scouring the internet to find a cheap local day out for us as I knew the weather was going to be quite good the next day.  I found out about the snowdrop gardens and woodland walk at Hodsock Priory near Blyth, North Nottinghamshire, just off the A1 between Worksop and Doncaster, so decided to head there for a look around and some fresh air.

How do our eating habits differ by region?

Britain is a nation of foodies, with 66% of UK adults describing themselves as passionate about food and drink. It comes as no surprise then that 50% say they are passionate about home cooking and 53% of millennials eat out at least once a week.

Weekend Fun with Heelys – A Review

My boys love clothes and shoes, they’re very opinionated about what they wear at the weekend, I can’t choose their outfits anymore.  They’re also full of energy and happiest when we’re out and about, especially at the park with their bikes or scooters.  So what could be better than combining shoes and wheels for scooting?

The Siblings Project {February 18}

It doesn’t seem like five minutes since I was writing January’s Siblings post and here we are in the middle of February.  I hate wishing the time away but is it Spring yet?  The last four weeks have been about school routine, quick trips to the park, two birthday parties and family time at home with Daddy recovering from having his tonsils out.

A Love Letter to Italy {Dolce Vita Bloggers}

Dear Italy,

I fell in love with you a long time ago, your food, your language, your cobbled streets, your rolling hills. I hated history at school yet I fell in love with yours. I never thought I wanted a foreign man, even after I had spent five months emersed in Italian culture, but you sent me one anyway.  You changed my life for the better.

On cultural differences & Parenting – Guest Post By Kalanit Ben-Ari, Ph.D.

It is difficult to categorise an accurate profile for those who choose a partner from a foreign culture. Yet, they are usually people who are not very connected to their own culture or who give it less importance. They could be seen as more exploratory or romantic people who see differences in culture as an adventure that make the experience more interesting and exciting. Many of them are rebels, who consciously or not, marry in protest or to distance themselves from their own culture, values, or family – or those who grew up in an international environment and it is natural for them to choose someone from another culture.

Me & Mine Project {January 18}

January has been really tiring. We’ve been so busy and there has been so much going on I feel like we haven’t had much proper family time.  We’ve spent a lot of time at home but similarly it feels like we’ve spent a lot of time running around to work, school, after-school activities, parties and more. I can’t wait for the weather to be better so that we can go to the park and I won’t want to leave after about twenty minutes because I’m freezing and I can’t feel my feet or nose anymore!
