cherry bakewell blondies

Cherry Bakewell Blondies

Bakewell tart was one of my favourite puddings as a child. I remember my Grandma always making one for me when we would go down and visit. One of Ethan’s favourite cakes to pick in the supermarket is a Cherry Bakewell. We both love that almond marzipan taste however I’m not a fan of glace cherries.

Wonder Berry Smoothie Bowl

Wonder Berry Smoothie Bowl with Erbology

I love smoothies and try and make one every day if I can. It’s a great way for me to get more fruit and vegetables into my diet as I’m not a fan of eating pieces of fruit especially in the winter months. Having them in a smoothie or smoothie bowl means that I can have multiple pieces of fruit with all of the juice and fibre as well as meaning that I am less likely to snack on unhealthier things. I would normally have a smoothie for an afternoon snack to keep me going until lunchtime or as dessert after lunch or dinner.

Treads Shoes Twins Project – A Review

Getting your children ready to start back at school is a major thing for parents in the school holidays. You are trying to enjoy the time off with them but September looms and everything you need to get ready is in the back of your mind. Uniform, P.E. kit, bag, coat and last but not least : school shoes. Getting your children’s feet measured is a big milestone and as they get older, the excitement for the kids of seeing how much they have grown makes the measuring that bit easier.

ASKA Maternity Movement Bracelet

The Aska Maternity Movement Bracelet – An interview with Louise Macleod

Whilst pregnancy is a magical and special time for an expectant Mum, it can often by marred with confusion and anxiety as women try to monitor the movements from their baby. Changes relating to the baby’s movements and patterns can highlight problems that may require urgent medical intervention. When women notice changes to the pattern, they are encouraged to seek advice from their medical team. The long-term aim of the bracelet is for it to help reduce still birth rates by encouraging women to monitor changes and to also seek help sooner.

Make a Mug Make a Difference Royal Crown Derby

Make a Mug, Make a Difference

I wanted to share this wonderful competition that was shared with me from a local company in the East Midlands. As an NHS worker, working in these strange times, it has been a very emotional few weeks. From changing the way we care for our patients, to watching our colleagues on the news who are doing an amazing job despite their genuine fears around the lack of PPE, to the devastating news about those that have lost their lives. The response from the public has been amazing and their thanks means the world.

10 Vegan Food Products That I Love

This is the second year that I have successfully completed Veganuary. I already eat a vegan breakfast every day and have done for about two years now. I wanted to do Veganuary again for both health and environmental reasons. We have been trying to cut down our meat consumption as a family and most of […]

A visit to Winter Wonderland at Conkers

A Visit to Winter Wonderland at Conkers

At this time of year, there’s so much to do, it’s hard to fit it all in. Putting up the tree and decorations, buying, wrapping and delivering presents, planning the food, going to watch the children’s nativity, the list can seem endless. One thing that is a must for many people is a trip to see Santa in his grotto and this year we were lucky enough to be invited to the opening of the Winter Wonderland at Conkers centre in heart of the National Forest.

The Little Prince Lakeside Arts

The Little Prince at Lakeside Arts Nottingham

I hadn’t been to the theatre in so long. I think we took the boys to see Peppa Pig when they were toddlers which was at least five years ago but hadn’t been since. We go to the cinema a couple of times a year. The boys love watching films and are really good at sitting still through the performance which is funny as they never sit still at home! Last week we were invited to The Lakeside Arts Theatre within the University of Nottingham campus to watch The Little Prince.
