My Pick of the Best Coats & Jackets for Boys – Spring/Summer 2018

I’ve mentioned before that my boys are very opinionated about their wardrobe and that I can’t choose what they wear anymore.  They permanently want it to be warm enough to wear shorts and t-shirts and so they’re really looking forward to it being Spring.

What I usually look for in a coat or jacket for Spring is something that is light and waterproof, with a hood.  I have found some lovely jackets without hoods too. It’s important to me that it is something that can be worn through Spring to Summer to Autumn.  As it’s usually one of the most expensive items in the wardrobe, (although I have found some really reasonably priced items below) I want something that will last especially as I have to buy two!  I normally buy it one size bigger than the size they wear in tops to make sure that they can layer up underneath without the coat being a tight fit.  So here are my favourite boys coats and jackets for Spring/Summer 2018 which I have listed in price descending order:

Mini Boden Jersey Lined Anorak Coat £43

Joules Skipper Waterproof Coat £42.95

Cath Kidston Breton Stripe Anorak £38.00

M&S Zipped Through Jacket with Stormwear £34.00

River Island Blue Demin Borg Collar Jacket £25.00

Zara Crossover Jacket with Pocket £24.99

J by Jasper Conran (at Debenhams) Navy Harrington Jacket £24.00 (was £30)

Next Blue Harrington Jacket £24.00

H&M Hooded Outdoor Jacket (Yellow) £19.99

Mothercare Little Bird by Jools Hooded Jacket £18.00

Matalan Shower Resistant Jacket £14.00

George at Asda Hooded Shower Resistant Jacket £12
